Tracy Darrell Adkins (born January 13, 1962) is an American singer and actor. In 1998, Adkins appeared on the music program PBS Austin City Limits (season 23). Early life and education

Adkins was born in Sarepta, Louisiana. His paternal grandparents were Rayford D. Adkins (1921-1987) and former Mavis Giles, then Mavis Tilley (1923-1999). Her parents are former Peggy Carraway, who is her father's high school lover, Aaron Doyle Adkins (1942-2014), who worked for forty-seven years at the International Paper Container Division at Springhill. Adkins has two brothers, Clay Adkins, and Scott Devin Adkins (1971-1993), who died at the age of twenty-one in a pickup truck accident near Plain Dealing at Bossier Parish. Her maternal uncle was a Christian musician James W. Carraway (1923-2008). His musical interest came at an early age when his father taught him to play the guitar.

At Sarepta High School, since his death, Adkins joined the gospel music group called New Commitment. He is also a member of the FFA. Later, Adkins attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. An offensive midfielder who attacked the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team, Adkins left the team after his first season with a knee injury, without ever playing in a match. Adkins never graduated. After graduating from college, he worked on an oil rig. He also works as a pharmaceutical technician before pursuing a career in music. He lost the little finger in his left hand in an accident using a knife to open the bucket, and asked the doctor to put his finger back on the corner so he could continue playing the guitar. Adkins moved to play at honky tonk bar over the next few years in the Ark-La-Tex area and eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in the early 1990s. Initial career

Personal life

Adkins has two daughters, Tarah and Sarah, with his first wife, Barbara Lewis, and three daughters with his third wife, former Rhonda Forlaw: Mackenzie, Brianna, and Trinity. Adkins is a United States Republican supporter and performed at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. He also performed the National Anthem in the inauguration of both Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Haslam in 2015.

As a young man, Adkins had a car accident where his 1975 pickup truck ended school buses. He broke some ribs and his nose was partially torn. Adkins was forced to give up college football after a severe knee injury at Louisiana Tech. He has also suffered a number of serious injuries as an adult, including being shot by his second ex-wife in 1994. The bullet penetrated his heart and his lungs. He survived and chose not to press charges.

In early 2014, Adkins checked into rehab for alcohol addiction after engaging in quarrels on a cruise ship.
