Histori

The game was created by Elmer D. Mitchell in the early 1920s at the University of Michigan. (Pleban and Wiersma 2003) Elmer is a professor of physical education, who seeks to develop a game that is not limited to any sporting rules. He also created a sport to engage more students, especially those who are not athletic. The sport was popularized and subsequently reformed by players and coaches at Millburn High School in New Jersey. This sport became very popular in the Millburn area which became the official sports class that any student can choose. Today, it's played in many American high school physical education classes. This sport is still struggling to turn into a sport that is actually played by clubs and high school teams.

Destination

The main purpose of the speedball is the goal of football/football. There are two goals, each guarded by an opposing team member or a goalkeeper. Each team tried to throw the ball into the goal. However, unlike soccer, there are many ways to score goals. Goals can be scored by kicking the ball into the goal or through a goal line marker with a person's feet or throwing the ball into the goal. "Kicks" is worth two points while "throw" is only worth one. The team that scored the most goals at the end of the game won the game. In the speedball league, whether they are at school or for a local speed ball team, a win is worth three points, bonds are worth one point and losses are of no value.

Fields and balls

The field can be any number of sizes and locations but the earliest variant is generally played on a basketball court or on a soccer field. Goal size should be about 6Ã, ft width 2.5Ã, ft. However, different target sizes and types may be used; the bigger the target, the faster the game goes. Hockey goals are also commonly used. Football, soccer ball, rugby ball, or volleyball can be used.

Team

Speedball can be played on the soccer field but there are only a maximum of five on the pitch at a time, and usually the entire soccer field is not used but a fraction of it.

The usual position is as follows:

  • Goal Keeper (GK) - Keeping the goal - trying to block the ball from entering the goal
  • Center (C) - Move with the ball - can play offense or defense
  • Right Winger (RW) - Take a photo at the top right corner of the field/field - crosses the ball into the middle
  • Left Winger (LW) - Play in the top left corner or field/field - cross the ball in the middle
  • Defensive Back (DB) Playing defense - trying to master the ball

Gameplay

The game begins by throwing a ball or throwing a coin in the middle of the field, the players are allowed to move anywhere on the field/game field. The field players are allowed to touch the ball with their body parts at any time EXCEPT their hands/hands (see next rule for details). Players can use their arms/hands during the last thing the ball touches is not the ground; one can not take the ball off the ground or catch it after the ball bounces off the ground. If a player touches the ball with their hands illegally, then it is considered a handball penalty and will result in the ball being handed to other team goalkeepers. If a player has a ball in his hand, they must make every effort to stop moving as quickly as possible (if one keeps moving it is considered a journey and the ball will be handed over to other team goalkeepers). Once a player has the ball in their hand, they can pass, attempt to score, or drop the ball to take advantage of other parts of the body to move the ball. Goals must remain on their side of the court and can not cross the halfway line (can not cross the half court line). Goalies can touch the ball with their body parts, meaning that they can take the ball off the ground without it being considered an "illegal" move. It is still illegal for the pilots to travel with the ball in their hands; But they can dribble

Penalties and Violations

The penalty is when the offense is done inside the goal box and the other team gets a penalty kick. A foul, done anywhere except in the box, results in a free kick for the player who is fouled. If the ball is out and is no longer tied, the last player to touch it should give the ball to another team. The team that receives the ball can throw it like a throw in for a basketball. Unlike football, there is no yellow card in Speedball. A player, who commits an unnecessary offense, receives a red card. Unlike soccer, a red card does not mean the player is kicked off the game. The player receiving the card must sit in the penalty box and must stay out for at least five minutes. Three red cards for one player means a player is kicked from the game.

Handball Ã, - if a player touches the ball with his hand after touching the ground

Traveling Ã, - when the player takes a step after the total stop when the ball is in the player's hand

Unmanaged Behavior - ruthlessly attack other players without the intent of chasing the ball

Goalies Passing The Half Line - when a goalkeeper moves above the halfway line

Variant

Naval Special Warfare (SEAL Speedball) - Saat ini diputar di seluruh Naval Special Warfare:

Initially adapted as an alternative to organized physical training (PT). The SEAL team wants an aggressive fast-paced game and has a relatively low risk of physical injury. The founder of the SEAL variant rose to the debate and the exact rules changed from platoon to platoon, team to team, and from coast to coast. But the basic rules are not very different from those described above.

The goal is the same, to score goals, but the rules have been cut to simplify game play and keep pace. Medan is whatever space is available, tailored to the number of people playing, teams of five to eight are standard but the bigger the field, the bigger the team. The game is played with a soccer ball or rugby ball in an open space with cones, t-shirts, water bottles, etc... marking the goal. The target is positioned at the ends of the field, target width is about 15 feet but can be agreed upon. Field boundaries are usually marked by similar methods, cones, t-shirts, water bottles, etc...

Rules:

The first possession is determined by stone, paper, scissors. Winners choose to kick or accept.

One point is printed at once. Points are printed when the ball passes the goal by running it, throwing it, or kicking it. If the ball is thrown or kicked, the ball must pass between goal markers and be accepted by a team that tries to score.

Play does not stop except for a change. Turnover occurs when the ball touches the ground (either dropped or fails to pass), out of bounds (carried or thrown), the carrier is touched by an apposing team (one hand or both), or a printed goal. Turnover occurs in the situations above with destination exceptions. When the ball takes place, the team carrying the ball has the option to immediately run, throw, or kick the ball to start playing. Ball carrier can not be marked unless they have taken more than one step from the turnover point. When a goal is scored the direction of the journey changes and the scoring team will throw or kick to another team.

Passing and running can be done in any direction by any method that looks fit by the ball carrier. This includes "self pass". A self-feed is when the ball bearer throws the ball into the air to avoid the tag, passes will be the tagger and catch the ball to continue playing. If the bait is tapped, the game does not stop and the interceptor can be marked, in turn it is better to drop the ball down and the ball will spin in place.

This game is played up to the count of points or time limits.

Villa Park High School (California) - has a Speedball league in the 1970s a quarter of every year:

  • Played on a soccer field with goals and goalkeepers
  • Played with soccer
  • Caught past the end zone line = 1 point
  • Thrown into net = 2 points
  • Kicked into the net = 3 points
  • You can kick the ball at your own pace
  • You can take the ball, you can give it to someone else
  • You can only run 2 steps without passing the ball or throwing it to the ground (like traveling with a basketball.)

Springton Lake Middle School (Media, PA) - The Department of Physical Education introduced Speedball variations during their Cultural Activity Unit.

Preparing:

  • Playing on a basketball court, aiming at the center at each end and a folding mat is placed in the opposite corners of the court
  • Playing with soccer balls in the room, a fairly flat outdoors football or a modified coach volleyball
  • Played by two teams, consisting of 5-8 players per side

Gameplay:

  • The game starts with a jump ball in the middle of the field
  • Every time the ball hits the ground, the ball must be played like football
  • Every time a ball bounces off a body part or wall and is captured by a player, the game should be played like a handball
  • The last thing the ball touches before a player catches it is the floor
  • When playing, like a handball, players with ball possession are allowed to take two steps
  • Self Pass - a player with possession ball is allowed to make Self Pass by throwing a ball over their head and catching it. This allows players to take more than two steps. However, players are not allowed to create more than two Self-Leans. Defense can retain Self Passes by trying to steal them.

Print:

  • 1 point for touchdown - managed to catch the ball with two legs on another team mat
  • 2 points for handball goal - managed to throw the ball into the other team's goal
  • 3 points for soccer goals - managed to kick the ball into the other team's goal
