WebSpellChecker software is a multi-language spell checking technology and service for web-based systems, established in 2000 by SpellChecker.net, Inc. It is designed for integration into websites, email marketing tools, content management, table help and customer relationship management systems. SpellChecker.net, Inc. was re-established in 1999 in the United States. A year later, the first version of the WebSpellChecker.net product was released. Over the next 15 years it has been provided as a B2B solution that helps companies create error-free writing for their business and ensures accuracy and professionalism.

On June 7, 2016, the rights to the WebSpellChecker software were sold to Limited Company Limited based in Ukraine, WebSpellChecker LLC.

Currently, WebSpellChecker LLC is a small product development company based in Kharkiv.

Product and Integration

The WebSpellChecker software is designed to be integrated and used among some editable HTML controls such as input, textarea, iframe, tags with editable content attributes (div, span, p, etc.), Iframe and also provided as a plug-in for the most popular WYSIWYG editors like CKEditor 4, TinyMCE 4 and Froala. WebSpellChecker released plug-ins for WordPress and apps for Slack, which let users check spelling while typing. WebSpellChecker mainly provides three products: WebSpellChecker (WSC), SpellCheckAsYouType (SCAYT) and Web API.

1. SCAYT provides users with the ability to view and correct misspelled words while typing. All misspelled words are underlined. Users can apply corrections from the drop-down menu with the suggestions listed where needed.
2. WSC works in a separate pop-up window and automatically returns the corrected text to the form. It is also extended with Grammar Checker and Thesaurus functions.
3. Web API provides a list of commands/interfaces in JSON/XML format that can be used to implement spell-checking and grammar strategies on web apps, websites, etc.
