You Get Me is a 2017 thriller America directed by Brent Bonacorso and written by Ben Epstein. Movie stars Bella Thorne, Halston Sage, Taylor John Smith, Anna Akana and Nash Grier. It was released on Netflix on June 23, 2017.

Plot
Tyler (Taylor John Smith) is a 17-year-old high school student who falls in love with his girlfriend Alison 'Ali (Halston Sage), and they have two friends: Gil (Nash Grier) and Lydia (Anna Akana). One night at a party, Tyler discovered before Ali moved to their school, he was a heavy partier and often drank and slept. Tyler was angry and they broke up. Outside the party, he meets mysterious Holly (Bella Thorne). They ended up partying and sleeping together. They spent the rest of the weekend in Holly's big house, with Holly telling Tyler that her father had died and her stepmother was traveling a lot. Tyler said that the weekend was special before leaving, seemed to forget all about Ali.
Tyler returns with Ali the next day, and when at school, watches Holly. Holly reveals that she went there now and wants to surprise her. Tyler tried to break up with Holly a couple of times but failed all the time. Holly starts hanging out with Ali, Gil, and Lydia. Lydia begins to suspect Holly when she does not see the presence of social media. Afterwards, Ali sends Tyler that he and the girls will meet at his workplace. When they get there, Ali gets through iPad Holly sees her picture until she stops when she sees a naked picture taken from Tyler. Ali asked more about it, but Holly brushed it off, saying it was a very long story. The three of them went looking for Gil on the beach. Holly began to take photos of the happy couple, praising her. Ali displays the "bare-chested man" again and Holly tells Ali and Gil about him because Ali is constantly pushing. Holly tells them a very descriptive story, which leads her to use Gil as an example. They started making out, Holly tried to make Tyler jealous, and they kept going all the way to Tyler's car. Ali interrupts asking if Holly is ready, and because of Gil's reluctance, he seems to be crazy about him. They both leave the car into Ali's house for some "girl girl". Tyler drove Gil home and stopped him when he was going to talk to him about something. Tyler tells him that he slept with Holly on the eve of Melinda's party. Gil asks her how sexy and Tyler refuses to talk about saying that Holly is trying to screw up because she has no other reason to mingle with Alison. Gil tells him not to worry about it. Tyler tells him that he'll tell Ali, Gil refuses, telling him that he's just fixing things up with her. Gil thanks him again for driving and leaving. Tyler comes home and tries to send Ali to let him invite her to his house, but Holly ends up sleeping on top so he can not.
Holly shows up at Tyler's house on Sunday telling him that Ali knows what's going on between them. She is angry to ask why he did that, but Holly never tells her. She jokes, and Tyler tells her that she's crazy. Tyler begins to suspect that Holly is dangerous, especially when she meets her stepmother, Corinne, who reveals that she is taking medicine and Holly lies to him about where she came from. Holly gave Lydia a wrong smoothie deliberately, causing an allergic reaction that put her in the hospital after she heard Lydia tell Ali that she did not buy the story and would find out what happened. Tyler had a nightmare about Holly killing him and he did not show up for school for the next few days. Gil was injured because Holly had nothing to do with her for a while, and did not know what her mistake was.
When she returned to school, Holly told Ali that she was pregnant but did not come in contact with the man who did it. Tyler asked Holly what she wanted after she appeared at her house, which she responded to for them to be with. While trying to sneak up at Tyler, he drops it, causing his lips to bleed. Holly tells Ali that she and Tyler slept together the night before she decided to tell him. Tyler and Ali meet on the beach, he tells the truth and Ali says he never wants to talk to her again.
Holly gets Tyler suspended, saying that she's attacking her. Tyler knows that Holly's real name is Elizabeth (Holly is the middle name). He checked it online and found that he attacked a student over a boy, and went to a mental institution for a while. That night, when Ali's parents left, Holly dropped him. When Ali did not respond to Tyler's texts, he began to suspect Holly. He left a message with Gil to meet him at Holly's house and start driving there. Ali wakes up to find him tied up and tied to a chair at Holly's house and Holly lies about getting pregnant. Corinne came home and while trying to release Ali, Holly slipped behind him and strangled him with a plastic bag, killing him.
When Tyler arrives, he sees Holly sitting in front of the fireplace, the first place he saw her the morning he woke up at his previous home. Holly tries to create a weekend when Tyler walks around the house looking for Ali. He found Ali unconsciously tied to the air on the ceiling, his forehead bleeding. He drops her off, wakes her up, grabs a fire poker and starts trying to escape from the house as Holly goes to retrieve her pistol. Tyler and Ali manage to get out and before they leave, Holly stops them at gunpoint. Tyler tells Holly that she loves Ali, not him and she will never. Gil appears behind them calling Holly's name. Disturbed, Holly shoots Tyler on the shoulder then tries to shoot Gil but misses. Ali takes a fire poker and stabs Holly on the side, causing Holly to fall back into the pool. Gil and Ali huddled around Tyler while waiting for the police to arrive.
Holly is pushed into the back of the ambulance and asks the paramedics to never leave her and make her promise, implying that she will be obsessed with her. The movie ends with Tyler, Ali, and Lydia having fun at Tyler's sister's birthday party.

Production
Casting
Bella Thorne and Halston Sage plays the role of Holly and Ali, respectively in March 2016. Taylor John Smith plays the lead role of Tyler's man in April 2016. Added to the cast at the same time are Nash Grier, Anna Akana, Garcelle Beauvais and Kathryn Morris.
Filming
The shoot on You Get Me started in Los Angeles in April 2016 and wrapped in May 2016. The shoot also took place on the beach in Santa Monica.
Release
The film has a world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival June 14-22, 2017. Originally scheduled to be released on Netflix on June 16, but released on June 23, 2017.
Reception
Brian Costello of Common Sense Media called the movie "messy from start to finish", Eddie Strait from The Daily Dot said "the film is not fun" and further criticized the film not only for originality but also boring, and Felix Vasquez Jr. of Cinema Crazed describes it as "an absurd entry in this silly sub-genre" and that although the film aspires to "Fatal Attraction" "it almost registers as a" Swimfan "clone.
