Madison Keys (born February 17, 1995) is a professional American tennis player. He achieved the highest career rating No. 7 in the world in October 2016, and has been consistently ranked in the top 25 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) since early 2015. The key has been played in a Grand Slam final at the 2017 US Open, and also competed in the 2017 WTA Finals. won three WTA tournaments, all at Premier level.
Known for having great service and one of the most powerful forehands in the game, Keys has used his aggressive style of play to become one of the next generation of American tennis leaders with Sloane Stephens and CoCo Vandeweghe. He debuted in the Top 10 ranked WTA in 2016, becoming the first American woman to realize this milestone since Serena Williams seventeen years earlier. When Keys and Stephens are facing each other in the 2017 US Open final, they are banging a streak of no American women apart from Williams's sister who has appeared in the Grand Slam final since 2005. Keys are inspired to start playing tennis after seeing the dress worn by Venus Williams at Wimbledon on TV. Originally from Quad Cities in Illinois, he moved to Florida to train at the Evert Tennis Academy. His coach thought of him as a miracle and believed he had a good chance of winning the Grand Slam. Early life and background
Keys was born on February 17, 1995 in Rock Island, one of Quad Cities in northwest Illinois. Her parents, Rick and Christine, are both lawyers, and her father is also an All-American division III basketball player at Augustana College. He has a sister named Sydney and two younger sisters named Montana and Hunter. The key passion for tennis begins at a young age. 2014: First WTA title

Both Kerber and Halep have been effective in using their counter-punching style to neutralize Keys power. Coach
When Keys was at Evert's Tennis Academy, he was primarily trained by John Evert. He also worked with his sister, Chris Evert, a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. In 2011 after six years at the academy, Keys diverted the trainer to Adam Peterson, who was assigned to work with him through USTA. Peterson is better known as the old coach of Lindsay Davenport, who will also train Keys. Early in his pro career, Keys also worked with two other USTA trainers, Juan Todero and Jay Gooding, who helped him get into the Top 50 WTA.
Before the start of the 2015 season, Davenport and her husband Jon Leach join the Keys coach team. During this year, Keys also worked with double legend Lisa Raymond. Despite the breakthrough season, Keys left third at the end of the year in search of a coach to be available for a more full-time role. In the first half of 2016, Keys hired Jesse Levine to train him. During this period, he also worked with Mats Wilander for about a week, which amounted to little. The key awaits Roger Federer because of his class and his positive attitude in court. Venus and Serena Williams are also two of her favorite players growing up. Although he first liked Venus for his tennis gown as a youngster, Keys also later admired Venus for his efforts in the struggle to bridge the prize money gap between men and women in tennis. Keys are close friends with Sloane Stephens and CoCo Vandeweghe. He has an iconic moment with each of them after the two most important games of his career. An impressive key hugs Stephens after losing the 2017 US Open final and jumping on Vandeweghe's lap after defeating him in the 2017 final of the Stanford Classic.
The key is biracial, because his mother is white and his father is of African-American descent. Nevertheless, he prefers to be recognized for who he is than his race, saying, "I do not really identify myself as white or African-American, I'm just me, I'm Madison." No sister playing or following tennis.
Keys is an ambassador for Fearlessly Girl, an organization dedicated to combat bullying and cyber-bullying, focusing on reaching high school girls. She hosted the first summit for the group with founder Kate Whitfield in her hometown of Rock Island in 2016.
By the end of 2017, Keys is dating American fellow Bjorn Fratangelo.
