Google Labs is a page created by Google to demonstrate and test new projects.
Google describes Google Labs as a "playground where our braver users can play with the prototype of some of our wild and crazy ideas and offer direct feedback to the engineers who develop it."
Google also uses an invite-only phase for trusted testers to test projects including Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Wave and many of them have their own "lab" webpages for unique experimental projects for each product.
In 2006, all Google Labs products had a consistent logo, using thermos, and gray titles, compared to other color-coded Google products, such as Google News and Google Maps.

In July 2011, Google announced that it had suspended Google Labs.
Many experiments have been stopped even though some have moved to the main search page. http://GoogleLabs.com now returns a failure searching for DNS. Google still has many links to the already disabled "lab" tool on Google blogs that are easily accessible via Google search.
