History

The company's stackdriver was created in 2012 by founders Dan Belcher and Izzy Azeri. The company's goal is to provide consistent monitoring across multiple layers of cloud computing services, using a single SaaS solution.

Stackdriver earns $ 5 million from Bain Capital Ventures in July 2012. The beta version of this product is available to the public on April 30, 2013.

In May 2014, the company Stackdriver was acquired by Google. Extended product versions (adding support for log analysis, hybrid cloud support, and deep integration with Google Cloud) have been renamed to Google Stackdriver and launched for general availability in October 2016.

Features

Stackdriver's focus is on improving the performance and availability of large and complex applications running in the public cloud. This provides metrics detailing each layer of 'stack' in the form of charts and graphs. Supports multi-cloud environments, and provides a single glass panel to user cloud services. It provides a view of the generated logs, and allows the user to generate metrics from the log. This allows the user to receive a warning when the metric violates the normal level.
