Google Questions and Answers ( Google Otvety , Google ?????? ) is a free knowledge market offered by Google that allows users to work just find good answers, over the web, to their questions (also known as Google Knowledge Search). Launched on June 28, 2007 and replaced the cost-based Google Answers service, was discontinued on December 1, 2006. Google has chosen Russia as the first country to launch this new service.

The service was developed under the leadership of Edward Y. Chang, research director at Google's Beijing office from 2006 to 2012. The service was first launched in Russia, and later China (independently mentioned in Baidu WIKI), Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia 17 Arabs and 40 African countries. Google targets these countries because these countries do not have enough websites to be indexed by Google search engines. The Q & A system is an effective way to gather useful content and then be indexed by search engines.

Technologically, Google services are very similar analog services by mail.ru, Naver and Yahoo !. This is a pseudonym: the author's nickname of the question and answer is displayed right next to the content of their contribution. Google uses question marking to help users find relevant questions. Google also finds high quality answers to similar questions that were previously requested and returned them to users to improve the timeliness of answers. Furthermore, the service integrates search and convert dissatisfied Web searches (indicated by the fact that no returned results are clicked) to queries via natural language processing. The technical details are documented in the Google 2010 VLDB paper.

Because most of these services, Google provides an incentive system to motivate people to answer questions. It is based on establishing points for action and a loose rate system based on Russian academic degrees system. An interesting feature of the incentive system is that Google's gifts to visit are higher than for posting an answer.

On August 20th, 2007, Google and Tianya Club, a Chinese community website, launched Q & amp; A free titled "Tianya's Answer".

This site has been launched in English and French as Google Baraza on completely different URLs.

Google closed the question and responded to the website again on June 23, 2014 and made it read only.
