Google Pay (formerly Pay with Google) is a payment system launched by Google in 2017 as a payment method for online shopping. It took over the branding of Google Chrome's autofill feature. Google Pay would have all the features of Android Pay, and would include Google Wallet features such as requesting and sending money.
The API allows merchants to add the payment service to websites, apps, Stripe, Braintree, and Google Assistant. The service allows users to use the payment cards they have on file with Google Play.
In January 2018, the service was renamed from Pay with Google to Google Pay. It was also announced that Android Pay and Google Wallet would be merged into the service.
On February 20, 2018, Google launched their new Google Pay app in Play Store.
